It has been said that a second language is one of the best gifts a parent can give a child. L’Etoile du Nord French Immersion (LNFI) is the only French immersion school in St. Paul. Our goal is to have all of our students speak and understand French by grade 5.  With many native French speakers on staff and a highly-involved parent community, LNFI offers remarkable learning opportunities to our students.

UPPER CAMPUS (Grades 2 - 5) classroom visits: 5 – 5:45 p.m.
The PTO will generously host the Ice Cream Social at 5:30 at the UPPER CAMPUS.
 
LOWER CAMPUS (Grades K - 1) classroom visits: 5:30 – 6:15 p.m.
The PTO will generously host the Ice Cream Social at 6:15 p.m. at the LOWER CAMPUS.
 
The classroom visits will give you the opportunity to meet the teacher, see the classroom and collect paperwork.

French Speaking Volunteers

We are currently seeking French-speaking individuals

- to volunteer in classrooms, working with small groups of students
- to student-teach in classrooms, collaborating with the classroom teacher to plan and deliver instruction.
- to join our team as a teacher assistant or teacher candidate for next school year!

Our Principal

Principal Fatima Lemtouni is a fluent native French speaker who also speaks three other languages – Berber, Arabic and English. She brings a wealth of experience to her new position, including a background in teaching different languages to both native and second-language English speakers.
