A little about myself

A Little About Myself:

I was born in Brussels in Belgium, but I am originally from a town called Kinshasa, the capital city of the Congo in Central Africa. I came to Cedar Rapids Iowa 24 years ago as an international student at Kirkwood Community College majoring in Pre-Engineering. After getting my Associate degree I transferred to Winona State in Minnesota as a third year Engineering student. Since my first choice was Electrical Engineering and Winona State had just Composite Material Engineering, At the end of my third year of Engineering I changed my major. I have a Master's  degree of Art in Teaching Math and French from Minnesota State University in Mankato. I have a second Master’s degree in French and Francophone Literatures from University of Nebraska Lincoln. I have 17 years of teaching experience in both College, High School and Elementary School. I taught French/Math at Minnesota State University at Mankato, University of Kansas Lawrence, Missouri Southern State University in Joplin Missouri, University of Nebraska Lincoln, Idyllwild Arts Academy in California and Thomas Jefferson Independent Day School in Joplin Missouri where I was teaching French from Pre-K to 7th grade. This is my fifth year at L’Etoile du Nord French Immersion. The 2 first years I was a Teacher Assistantat. This is my 3rd year as a second grade teacher. I have a Minnesota K-6 Teaching License for Elementary Education.

Today, I look forward to the new challenge of teaching, and I welcome the opportunity to work with a dynamic group of students and parents.
