- To encourage Social Development by providing opportunities for sharing, taking turns, making friends, resolving conflicts, problem solving, helping others, recognition and acceptance by others, cooperative experiences, and building self-esteem.
- To facilitate Intellectual Development through widening
the child's experience to increase knowledge, basic concepts, and skills.
To encourage Emotional Development through use of oral language to express thoughts and feelings, through experiencing rules and limits, kindness, justice and empathy, and recognizing and accepting emotions in others. To develop skill in respecting other individuals.
- To develop Responsibility for one's own actions in self-help, health, safety, and interpersonal areas and to exercise independence when appropriate.
- To encourage Physical Development of large motor skills through outdoor and indoor games and activities as well as fine motor development though use of a wide variety of materials such as manipulative toys, blocks, puzzles, and other small tools and objects. To facilitate development of visual-motor skills.
- To encourage Creative Development by offering many kinds of materials and experiences in music, art, dramatics, literature, and oral stories.
- To provide stimulation that develops interest in Language through stories, puppetry, housekeeping corner and its equipment, music, games, science materials, dramatizing, problem solving, and other conversations.
