Bienvenue - Welcome to Science

      Je m'appelle HENRIETTE NGO-BISSOY,professeur de science à LNFI. Je suis très heureuse de participer àl'éducation de vos enfants et surtout de les introduire dans le mondede la science.

Les sciences jouent un rôle important dans l'éducation. Ellesapprennent aux enfants de devenir de bons penseurs et leur permetsurtout de s'exprimer independamment dans le futur.

Depuis que nous à l'Est de St Paul, les élèves profitent et admirent les bois et les lacs naturels de cette region. Nous avons travaillé autour de notre ecole en:
  • Reduisant l'EROSION sur la colline à l'entrée de l'école
  • Creant un jarin pour attirer les insectes, les oiseaux et les papillons que les éleves adorent.
  • Créant un jardin de collection d'eau de pluie, ce qui permet de limiter la pollution dans nos lacs et rivières. 
  • Les élèves ont également participé à la restoration du Lac Phalen en plantant des plantes natives chaque année autour du lac  avec l'aide de Sage Passi du Watershed District, les éleves et moi continueront à observer les problèmes environnementaux autour de LNFI et chercher les moyens de les resoudre. 
  • Des livres de Poésies Scientifiques avec les 5ems et les 6ems années

My name is Henriette Ngo-Bissoy, Science teacher.  I am very excited to be involved in instructing your children in the world of science. 

Science plays an important role in your child's education.  Science teaches children to be critical thinkers which assists them in becoming independent minded people. 


Movingto the East Side of St Paul the students  have the opportunity toknow the wonderful wooded neighborhood surrounded by natural areas and lakes.

The students and I have worked very hard around the school:
  • Stopping erosion on the front hill with natural plantings.
  • Creating a butterfly and bird garden to attract wildlife
  • Creating rain garden using runoff from the school roof.
  • Participating in the restoration of Lake Phalen and Keller Lake Habitat using natural plantings.
  • Creating Science Poetry Books with 5th and 6th Grade Students.
We are grateful to Sage Passi and the Ramsey County Watershed District for assisting us in these exciting learning opportunities. We are still looking for other environmental challenges in ourschool environment. With the help of everyone we find a way to solvethem.


At LNFI we have 2 Science Fairs, 6th grade Science Fair and the School-Wide Science Fair open to 4th and 5th Grades Students 1st,  2nd  and 3rd Grades have their own Science Fair. 6th Grade students participate yearly at the Twin Cities Regional Science Fair, and have received numerous awards.

Students in grades 4th and 5th, have the opportunity to participate in an after school science tutoring program to prepare them for the MCA science.
