** For centers closing earlier, the following times are adjusted accordingly.

Example A. Parent/guardian calls before 6:05 p.m. and arranges to pick up child by 6:30 p.m. or gives verbal authorization for another person to pick up the child between 6:00 and 6:30 p.m.

Procedure: 1. Staff person waits until child is picked up.

2. Parent/guardian or authorized person pays $25.00 for each 30 minutes starting at 6:00 p.m. by the classroom clock. Child cannot continue to attend program until payment is made.

Example B. Parent/guardian does not come or call by 6:05 p.m.

Procedure: 1. Staff calls an authorized person to pick up the child and waits until the person comes.

2. Parent/guardian or authorized person pays $25.00 for each 30 minutes starting at 6:00 p.m. by the classroom clock. Child cannot continue to attend program until payment is made.

Example C. Parent/guardian does not call or come by 6:05 p.m. Staff member reaches authorized person by phone but authorized person does not have transportation.

Procedure: 1. Authorized person is asked to take a taxi to pick up the child.

2. If the authorized person does not have money, staff member takes a taxi to the home of the authorized person and returns.

3. The parent/guardian is charged for round trip taxi fare plus $25.00 for each 30 minutes beyond 6:00 p.m. Time is charged until the staff member returns to the school.

PLEASE NOTE:

• If a child is not picked up by 6:30 p.m. and parents/guardians cannot be reached, the police will be notified.

• The charge for time after 6:00 p.m. (on the classroom clock) is $25.00 for each 30 minutes. However, on days when the custodian is not on duty after 6:00 p.m., the parents/guardians are also billed for custodial overtime. Custodians are paid for

1/2 hour of time after the last person leaves.

• If a child is not picked up after Extended Kindergarten, the charge is also $25.00 for 30 minutes.

• If parent/guardian or authorized person cannot pay cash or write a check for the late fee that day, the money must be brought in before the child attends the Discovery Club again.

• Parents/guardians who do not observe closing time regularly may have their child withdrawn from the program.</P
