Food and beverages are not allowed at the library computers or in the computer lab.
When students arrive in the Library Media Center, they will be asked for a signed pass from a teacher which they will place in the silver mesh box labeled “LIBRARY PASSES.” They will then sign in on the laptop. When they are ready to leave, they will retrieve their pass from the silver mesh box.
Students are expected to be working quietly while in the library. Appropriate activities include:
Browsing the bookshelves and checking materials in/out
Doing homework/taking tests/studying
Seeking assistance from the librarian, aide, or other staff
Researching a topic
Working at a computer
Students on inappropriate web sites or acting improperly will be disciplined and/or asked to return to class or their assistant principal.
Students may check out up to 5 books, excluding textbooks, as long as they do not have more than 1 overdue book.
Playaways may be checked out only by students with no overdue materials.
Color printing is $0.25 a sheet, unless it is for a senior project.
Students are responsible for materials checked out to them. Fines will be assessed for lost and damaged materials. Within each school year, students who pay for materials which are later found and returned in good condition will be given a refund.
Students should not be in the library during lunch unless they have a pass signed by a teacher.
Students must have a valid student ID in order to check out a laptop computer.
