It has been said that a second language is one of the best gifts a parent can give a child. L’Etoile du Nord French Immersion (LNFI) is the only French immersion school in St. Paul. Our goal is to have all of our students speak and understand French by grade 5.  With many native French speakers on staff and a highly-involved parent community, LNFI offers remarkable learning opportunities to our students.

iPad Rollout

All students at LNFI will be receiving iPads to use at school.  These devices will be assigned to individual students, but will stay in the classroom.

All students at LNFI are invited to enroll in the Extended Day for Learning (EDL) after school program. 

This FREE program runs two days per week for one hour and 45 minutes (see school calendar):

We are currently seeking French-speaking individuals

- to volunteer in classrooms, working with small groups of students
- to student-teach in classrooms, collaborating with the classroom teacher to plan and deliver instruction.

Our Principal

Principal Fatima Lemtouni is a fluent native French speaker who also speaks three other languages – Berber, Arabic and English. She brings a wealth of experience to her new position, including a background in teaching different languages to both native and second-language English speakers.
