Dear Families and Students,
Fourth Grade : The end of the year is nigh and I feel like we just got started. Come see our beautiful poetry books now on display in the library. Right now we are in the midst of literature circles. Each group is reading a book with a theme of overcoming racism and prejudice.
Sixth Grade: Sixth graders have finished their feature articles. I know, we've been working on them since January!!!!!! Silly things like MCA IIs and computer access slowed us down (we also got sidetracked with science poetry, but that was a welcome interruption). The finished products are amazing and the breadth of interest stunning. Classes walking by stop to read the articles. How great is that! Now we are finishing off the year with literature circles. They chose what they wanted to read and so I've only heard a couple of mutterings of discontent.
Have a great summer and keep those kiddies reading!!!!
For fourth grade parents of series junkies, I have a few summer reading suggestions with help from the Horn Book. Click on the document below: Is there life after Warriors and other summer reading questions.
