About L'Etoile du Nord

Bonjour! For more than 25 years, our exceptional, dedicated staff have prepared students to be lifelong learners that succeed in a multilingual, global community.

L’Etoile du Nord French Immersion is a public, tuition-free, magnet school serving Pre-K through 5th grade students throughout the Saint Paul area and surrounding suburbs. You do not have to live in St. Paul to attend our school, we welcome families from all over.

We welcome students from all backgrounds. We know that the diverse experiences of families enhance our school community and teach students to have a broader, global perspective.

In L’Etoile du Nord’s one-way immersion program, students receive instruction primarily in French (including specialist classes such as art, science and technology) with the goal of becoming fluent in French. Families do not need to speak French at home for students to succeed at L’Etoile du Nord.

L'Etoile du Nord teachers are native or fluent French speakers from around the globe, and many have studied or lived abroad for extended periods of time. Some of our educators are even products of French immersion schooling.

• Additional School Offerings:
  • Full-day Pre-K program (free)
  • Extended-day care through Discovery Club (fee-based, on site)
  • After-school activities through Saint Paul Community Education (fee-based)
  • Starting 2024: Before-school instrumental lessons for certain grades (fee-based)
