Where the French Immersion Journey Begins

Kindergarten is the main entry point for students joining L’Étoile du Nord French Immersion School. In our classrooms, children learn French naturally through songs, stories, movement, games, and play-based learning.

Even if your child has no previous French experience, they quickly begin understanding and using the language in meaningful ways.

At the same time, students build strong foundations in early literacy, mathematics, curiosity, and confidence — preparing them for success throughout elementary school.

No French Experience? No Problem!

Most of our Kindergarten students begin with no prior French exposure. Our teachers use visuals, songs, gestures, and hands-on activities to help students quickly understand what is happening in the classroom.

Research shows that students in immersion programs develop strong English literacy skills while becoming bilingual, and our teachers carefully support each child as they grow and learn.

Families are often amazed at how quickly their children begin understanding and speaking French.
