Central High School and L'Etoile du Nord Receive Label France Education Seal of Excellence in French Bilingual Education

Central High School and L'Etoile du Nord Receive Label France Education Seal of Excellence in French Bilingual Education

Last spring, the Central High School Dual Language and Immersion Program and L’Étoile du Nord French Immersion School individually completed an extensive application for the Label France Education, a seal of excellence in French bilingual education awarded by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In September, both schools were contacted by the French Consulate General of Chicago and informed that their programs met the criteria of “extremely high quality” and that they would be honored for their accomplishment.

On March 14, 2024, the two schools were joined by honored dignitaries, Yannick Tagand, the French Consul General of Chicago and Nicolas Douay, the Attaché of Education and University Partnerships, as they celebrate the successes of not only these programs but also the Saint Paul Public School District, which has supported the programs for over 25 years.

The program included musical performances by students from both schools, comments and recognition from the French Consul General, an acknowledgment of Liam Carlson a senior in Central High School's French Program who was honored and selected to receive a scholarship to visit France, and the presentation of two plaques commemorating the Label France Education designation.

Congratulations to the many dedicated faculty and staff who worked so hard over the years to make this important recognition possible!
