About Mme Bolar Boly
Bonjour! My name is Madame Margaret Bolar Boly. I am a kindergarten teacher at L'Etoile du Nord.
I am originally from Stevens Point, WI. It is no lie that I am a product of the Dairy State; my favorite food is ice cream. I completed my BA at the University of WI-Madison. After teaching preschool for four years, my family and I moved to the Twin Cities. I finished a Master's in Education at the University of Minnesota and received two teaching licenses in French and in English as a Second Language. My elementary education license is from Hamline University in Saint Paul. I started working at L'Etoile du Nord French Immersion in 2012 and have been teaching kindergarten the entire time.
My French language experience started in junior high school. Then, I went to Concordia Language Villages as a student. This allowed me to practice my French and inspired me to study abroad. As a high school student, I spent one month in Brittany (La Bretagne). During my undergraduate studies, I spent a year in Senegal, West Africa. I met my husband during my studies there, and we have been married since 2007. He speaks eight languages, including French. Our family life is kept busy by our child's hockey schedule. Our child, Ryan, will be in middle school this year.
Most of my time away from school is spent with my family. I like to swim, drink mocha lattes, and take walks with our American Bulldog, Ballou.
