About Mme Treon

My name is Shella Treon and I am the speech-language therapist at LNFI. I have always had a special interest in different languages and cultures.  I attended French Immersion school in Winnipeg, Canada for middle and highschool and have studied Spanish and Swahili as well. Having parents that are from different cultures, my home was always filled with different languages and many different ethnic foods.

My favorite course in university was Linguistics. I knew then that I wanted to learn more about speech and language development and have never looked back!  I love learning about the uniqueness of each student I work with as we work toward more effective communication.  You can reach me at LNFI via phone at 651-744-6429 or via e-mail at shella.treon@spps.org.

The Work of Speech-Language Therapists:

  • We consult with classroom teachers to develop teaching strategies for effective communication for the whole class or individual student needs.
  • We are part of the special education team that may evaluate your child in the areas of articulation, language comprehension and expression, fluency or stuttering, voice, and augmentative communication when there are concerns in these areas.
  • We provide speech and language services at school to students that have been identified as having a communication disorder.
  • We consult with parents to help them understand their child's communication patterns and to help them work with their child at home.
